Signal workshop

This year a number of students from the Brighton Bay Art, Design & Photography program attended four Friday afternoon workshops @ Signal.

Students worked with the Macintosh iPad to create drawings. The results were rear projected onto the Signal glass window over a few nights in November. Some images were also on display @ the Graduation Show.

Patrick Snelling Textile Design Lecture RMIT

Patrick Snelling, Program Director at RMIT today gave a presentation to staff and students about the Bachelor of Textile Design at RMIT Brunswick. He showed student work, gave descriptions and examples of the collaborative ways students’ work in the degree and profiles of successful graduates. The course allows students to work closely with industry and undertake work placements and exchange programs overseas. Many ex Brighton Bay students have gone on to study Textile Design over the years. This year’s crop of students were enthusiastic to know more about the course from Patrick and a number intend to apply for the course.

Zac

As I showed the 2011 Brighton Bay class a 7 minute stop motion film of a zoo keeper manually stimulating a grey panda, I realised the true power of animation.

Stay cool.

Its a bit strange coming back here, when it feels like just the other day i was listening to older students talk about their time at uni. I hope that i was able to give some form of insight to the students and help them with their future design/art aspirations. good luck to everyone!

SIGNAL

Simon Spain from signal came out to BB to talk to students about the exciting things happening at SIGNAL. Students from BB will be attending workshops later this month at SIGNAL so Simon demonstrated some iPad drawing techniques that they will be exploring.
